HeyTutor's program vets, screens, and trains tutors directly from a district's community to serve students live, and in-person on their campus. Our inclusive Learning Gap Curriculum embraces extensive academic standards to provide students with a solid foundation across subjects. It often involves diagnostic assessments to identify learning gaps, followed by resources and activities aimed at closing those gaps and ensuring that all students can achieve the expected learning outcomes. Tutoring is embedded during the school day with push in or pull out sessions or before/after school alongside childcare and enrichment opportunities. HeyTutor can also leverage district curriculum to support in-classroom initiatives.

The early sessions with students involve intense questioning, gentle pushing, and interpersonal connecting. You and your college admissions coach will engage in a lot of back-and-forth well before you get anything down on paper. You’ll learn how to be more honest with yourself than you thought possible, and you’ll eventually latch on to a genuinely original idea. Once you’ve spent time developing your personal narrative, your college essay coaching sessions will focus more on the mechanics of writing. You may notice that your coach becomes tougher or more critical at this point, but don’t worry; this often happens when you switch to the more tangible part of the process (and it’s a sign that the two of you have developed trust and rapport). On the other hand, if you have a lot of anxiety around writing, your coach will give you a set of exercises to help you become comfortable with the uncertainty that is a core component of written communication.

Saga embeds algebra (or geometry) math tutors as a class within the school day. Our tutor teams can serve 20-40 students per period, and the tutors can work in person or online. Tutors work in ratios of 1:2 to 1:4, and we offer four models.
We provide one-to-one tutoring for adult education and high school equivalency preparation (GED/TASC/HiSET) at two Cleveland-area locations, as well as nationally in our Virtual Classroom, conducted through Zoom. Talent Pro Tutor offers a variety of tutoring services. We offer 1:1 tutoring as well as pod tutoring. With school districts, we also offer larger group HIT tutoring or remedial learning. All of our programs are personalized to what the individual student or school district needs.
In order to ensure that our students are receiving the best possible academic support, students take a variety of assessments. Before beginning tutoring services, students will take a diagnostic assessment so that we have an understanding of what areas the student has mastered and what areas the student needs to review. Our assessments are coded and aligned to Common Core Standards and specific state standards. As students begin tutoring with their assigned educator, they will frequently be presented with formative assessments to track their progress and understanding. At the end of each unit or topic, students will be presented with a summative assessment to ensure that the target areas have been mastered. These assessments may come in a variety of forms, such as projects, presentations, short quizzes, etc. All progress and data is tracked through our learning platform for both educators, parents, and administrators to keep track of. If we see that a student is not making the necessary progress, then we will reevaluate the case and create a new learning plan.
