Jonathan Guryan

Jonathan Guryan is the Lawyer Taylor Professor of Education and Social Policy in the School of Education and Social Policy, and a faculty fellow in the Institute for Policy Research at Northwestern University. He is also co-Director of the Education Lab at the University of Chicago, where he has led several randomized evaluations of high-dosage tutoring in the Chicago Public Schools, and an elected member of the National Academy of Education. He received his Ph.D. in Economics from MIT in 2000, and conducts research on the causes and consequences of racial inequality in schools and labor markets, and on the economics of education. Prior to joining the Northwestern faculty in 2010, Guryan taught at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
