Cynthia Pollard

Cynthia Pollard is Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Annenberg Institute at Brown University. She is interested in the role that teachers and teaching play in reinforcing or challenging race- and class-based inequality in K – 12 classrooms. Her current research examines how teacher and student race—and the interaction between the two—affect instructional decision-making and student learning. Cynthia holds a Ph.D. in Education from Harvard University, an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and a B.A. from the University of California, Los Angeles. She previously taught elementary school in Los Angeles.
