Third Space Learning

Mission

To make high-quality personalized one-on-one math tutoring more accessible for schools so that every student can succeed in and love their learning.

Program Description

Third Space Learning provides scheduled online one-on-one math tutoring programs for schools that follow structured, research-based instructional materials. Lesson content is personalized for individual students, aligned to state standards and delivered by STEM specialist tutors.

Schools select the students who need supplementary math instruction and Third Space Learning gives them a scalable and accessible way to provide high-quality one-on-one math instruction for multiple students.

Structured and consistent instructional materials provide scaffolded support for students where they need it most, with each lesson following an ‘I do, we do, you do’ format.

Lessons are available for every state’s standards and for common core. Schools can choose for students to progress through the standards-aligned lessons in the default order, or to choose specific standards for specific students to cover.

Sessions are scheduled in students’ academic schedule, when students work through the chosen lesson with their own dedicated online math tutor, drawing and typing on their shared screen and engaging in mathematical discussion via the free headsets provided.

All Third Space Learning tutors hold or are working towards a University degree in STEM or other math-related subject, are fully background-checked and undergo a rigorous initial training program followed by ongoing professional development and quality assurance. Training focuses on delivering effective, engaging and high-quality one-on-one math lessons.

Regular progress reports are available to help schools monitor each student’s learning growth over time. After just one session, 90% of students show a solid understanding of the concept they’ve been learning. Within a few weeks, students make accelerated progress and report increased confidence in math.
