LaunchesTeach for America North Carolina’s high-impact tutoring initiative, Ignite Fellowship Program. The program is in partnership with several districts across North Carolina and provides customized small group tutoring. Ignite Fellows offer in-school tutoring at least three times a week and receive coaching and feedback from teachers throughout the program. The initiative intends to accelerate student learning while also diversifying the field of education by recruiting and hiring tutors from various racial/cultural backgrounds. In addition to diversifying the field of education, programs leaders have stated a commitment to the continuous improvement of the program through conducting a series of assessments through surveys and school-based assessments.
