SB 723 California LEADS Tutoring Program

Creates the California Leadership, Excellence, Academic, Diversity, and Service-Learning (LEADS) Tutoring Program to provide both in-person and online tutoring to rectify learning loss. Each county office of education will implement the tutoring program in their area. Once the list of participating school districts is announced (on or before June 1, 2022), the bill makes all public K-12 school students in districts that meet criteria eligible to participate in supplemental individualized learning assistance. Once appropriated by the Legislature, every LEADS participant will be issued appropriate funding to aid supplemental individualized learning assistance.
