425 Tutoring is a student-run organization that connects high school volunteer tutors with elementary school students looking for tutoring. Based in Washington State, students and parents can sign up for group tutoring sessions on the website. We will then assign high school tutors to reach out and conduct recurring virtual tutoring sessions via Zoom or Google Meets.
This database includes an initial set of organizations that offer tutoring, technology platforms or academic interventions along with relevant information if available. This is not meant to be an inclusive list, but a starting point. We welcome additional organizations to join the database by completing this form.

826 National amplifies the impact of our national network of youth writing and publishing centers and the words of young authors. We serve as an international proof point for writing as a tool for young people to ignite and channel their creativity, explore identity, advocate for themselves and their community, and achieve academic and professional success.
Access’ Self-Directed Learners' Tutoring Program is a 40-session, metacognitive learning development program that develops learning competence among each student in 40 sessions. Our goal is to help students develop fluency in literacy-based applications and in foundational self-directed study skills that aid learning. Another intent is to strengthen students' skills in self-directed learning strategies as well as to facilitate their ability to construct meaning from informational text. Our tutors are skilled in using a venerated cognitive science learning vehicle, Reciprocal Teaching, and in integrating cognitive strategies into the students’ learning process.
Because constructing understanding requires both cognitive and metacognitive elements, Access’ 40-session program is designed for students in grades 4-12. The program teaches and reinforces skills with the goal of accelerating students’ capacity to learn and improve their reading and writing competence. The summer program seeks to help students construct knowledge using cognitive strategies, guide, regulate, and evaluate their learning by using metacognitive strategies and provide students with a jump start for regular school programming.

Air Reading is a high-impact tutoring program from Air Education, Inc. In synchronous, online sessions, Air Reading tutors provide small groups of up to 4 students with live, targeted reading instruction to meet their individualized needs based on the Air Reading systematic curriculum. The curriculum covers Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 6 reading skills and competencies.
Based on student information shared by the School or District about students’ reading level, skills and needs, and reading/learning needs, if available, Air Reading wil group students into small groups of up to 4 students based on level, skills and needs. Students will not be placed into a group working on a different reading level, so groups may vary in size.
Air Reading assigns a tutor to meet with the same group(s) of students consistently throughout their programming. Situations may require a tutor to request a substitute for an Air Reading session (e.g. Tutor has a medical issue or emergency), in which case Air Reading will assign a substitute tutor for that session.
Each Air Reading session is 40-minutes, where the tutor will provide direct instruction to students through a series of reading and literacy activities for about 25 minutes of the lesson, followed by a shared book reading for the remaining 15 minutes. The Air Reading curriculum is developed from evidence-based strategies on how we learn to read and provides students with engagement in phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension, as relevant.
Air Reading sessions can be conducted during school hours, before school and after-school. We partner directly with families, and with schools, organizations and districts.

Specific to this program, Axiom Learning has provided tutoring services for K-12 schools within an urban public school district, including from September 2021 to the present with the Boston Public School District at New Mission High School and from August 2018 to the present with Summit Public Schools.

Families of students that require individualized supports have an uphill battle in determining what their child needs to succeed in school and how to go about getting it. Likewise, schools often face barriers in providing effective services to students with specialized learning plans: services can quickly become costly and resources are limited. Beacon professionals have been on both sides of the IEP table and are dedicated to creating partnerships between parents and the school in order to maximize support for the student.
Our goal is to get all participants at grade-level proficiency or above in math and/or reading. We accomplish this via small-group tutoring for grades PK4-12 in in-school, after-school, summer, and virtual programs targeted primarily at low-performing schools and students in South Dallas and surrounding communities. Students receive individualized attention, achieve academic mastery in core subjects, and show demonstrable proof of applied learning that will ensure their academic success in middle school, high school, and beyond. Each student is assessed, followed by the development of a customized learning plan. Certified professionals, assisted by trained volunteers, provide two to three hours of weekly tutoring using integrated exercises, workbooks, and storybooks. Students develop self-discipline, focus, and ability as they progress at their own pace; promoting confidence in their own abilities.
BEAM runs summer math programs for underserved students with proclivity towards mathematics. After our summer programs, BEAM continues to provide enrichment classes, high school and college advising, and other wraparound support.
Bespoke provides curriculum and tutoring support for schools and students in Grades 3-12; we have developed curricula for and run small- and large-group classes (from 5-25 students per cohort) in elementary and middle school math and ELA (English), SAT and ACT prep, AP prep, and more. Bespoke works closely with school administrators to schedule classes, group students, assess progress, and coordinate curriculum. We are able to quickly create customized programs for each school based on their needs, and we can run live, synchronous, in-person or remote classes during the school day, after school hours, or on weekends.
Our program combines small, online classes with dedicated instructors, tailored curriculum, and cutting-edge learning management system. Our program focuses on math and/or English. Students attend weekly, live classes and complete homework assignments to reinforce learning between classes.
BookNook provides a cloud-based platform for synchronous and rigorous K-8 reading instruction that can be accessed by any device larger than a phone. Students log in from school, home, or a community-based setting and work one-on-one or in small groups on algorithmically-recommended sequences of standards-aligned curricular and text content. Adult instructors are a diverse array of teachers, paraprofessionals, childcare providers, and community volunteers, and BookNook can also supply tutors from a national network of over 200,000 trained virtual instructors.

BRYTE is a student-led organization that pairs Brown undergraduate tutors with students ages 5-18 in refugee families. Currently, BRYTE works with over 170 refugee youth that are resettled from a diverse set of countries, including Iraq, Syria, Colombia, Nepal, Eritrea, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Rwanda, Burundi, Burma, Somalia, and others. Brown undergraduate, graduate, and medical school students serve as the tutors and mentors in the BRYTE program. Around 170 BRYTE volunteers work one-on-one with refugee students in their homes at least three hours per week. Volunteers spend time primarily tutoring (providing homework help and building on foundational literacy skills), but also engage in enrichment activities such as taking their students to visit the zoo, playing soccer at the park, or bringing them up to Brown's campus for community events.
Allee Burka is a licensed reading specialist who is an associate of Orton Gillingham and has her Masters in literacy. She provides one one one tutoring online and in person.
Carnegie Learning’s Virtual Mathematics Tutoring is an on-demand, virtual tutoring program. Our Directors of Professional Learning collaborate with district leaders to configure a tutoring offering that best fits their needs and their schedule. Our experts will own the overall tutor management, establish a weekly tutoring hours schedule, initiate an easy-to-use scheduling tool for students/parents, provide the live/video conferencing platform, manage the day-to-day support, and share the daily usage data with key stakeholders.
Virtual Mathematics Tutoring could include:

Our tutors leverage Carnegie Learning's MATHia software to gather real time formative assessment data, identify specific areas for tutoring support and to reinforce concepts covered during tutoring.
SIPPS (Systematic Instruction in Phonological Awareness, Phonics, and Sight Words) is a research-based foundational skills program proven to help both new and struggling readers in grades K–12 build skills and confidence for fluent, independent reading.
Chariot Learning builds its nationally respected test prep programs on the understanding that amazing teachers and motivated students can accomplish wonders together. We train highly experienced and effective teachers to implement our flexible SAT/ACT combo curriculum to tailor instruction based on where students begin and what their ultimate goals are. We specialize in 1-1 tutoring and small group (4-6 students) classes for either or both tests.

The AERO program consists of online assessments and progress monitoring tools and over 200 lessons across three levels. The AERO program uses online assessments to create and implement individualized instructional plans that are delivered in small groups of students (two to three students at a time). The AERO program includes curriculum-based measures that help AERO Instructors know which skills to focus on during the sessions and monitor students' mastery of taught concepts to make instructional adjustments. AERO's curriculum and assessment resources are housed on the Children Learning Institute's (CLI) online platform, CLI Engage, which allows the majority of the award gift to be allocated to instructional support for students and professional development for AERO implementation.
